Nestled in the heart of Clarksville, TN, The Mailroom stands as a testament to both culinary excellence and historical preservation. Our unique location, housed in the historic former United States Post Office and Federal Building, offers an ambiance that melds the past with the present, providing our guests with an unforgettable dining experience.
Constructed in 1935 during the Great Depression with Treasury Department funds, this building was a cornerstone of communication for Clarksville. Its front facade is graced with marble, while brick sides and marble trim add to its architectural charm. The lobby once showcased two magnificent murals by artist F. Luis Mora, commissioned as part of the New Deal’s Treasury Section of Fine Arts program. These murals, "Arrival of the Renfro Family" and "Abundance of Today," depicted significant aspects of Clarksville’s history, though they have since been lost. Today, the building’s historical significance is preserved and honored through its careful renovation, making The Mailroom not just a place to dine, but a place to connect with the past.
